Peace Players International Alumni

Since PPI inception, over 200 young adults have served as PPI Managing Directors, Program Directors, Local Managers and Local Coaches. These men and women have helped thousands of young people overcome legacies of prejudice, hate and hopelessness.

Here is how a few of our alumni describe their experience:

“PeacePlayers International is a MOVEMENT powered by the collective spirit of over 80 South Africans and five Program Directors who are creating positive change and educating thousands children about HIV and AIDS.”
-- Brian Lemek –former Program Director, South Africa

“PPI is community-strengthening, boundary-bridging work. We provide exciting alternatives to the fundamental lack of positive education and the intolerance inherited by each generation. The combination of sport and education has worked to develop a new brand of social leader who is redefining the notion of the ‘other’ by building bridges, not walls.”
--Zach Leverenz - former Managing Director, Cyprus

“Everyday I see it (PeacePlayers International) restoring the hope and the passion for life that our generation is losing.”
--Emmanuel Modando, former Program Manager, South Africa

“PPI is about breaking down walls. It’s a powerful experience when you get past those barriers. So much of the negative disappears and much of the hope you have for humanity is strengthened.”
--Matt Quinn – former Program Director, Middle East

“My experience with PeacePlayers International has been nothing short of amazing. I knew that I would be making changes in many lives, yet I never expected such great changes in my own,”
--Lisa Golobski –former Program Director, Northern Ireland

“My job isn't from 4:00pm to 6:00pm but it's until I see my kids become educated, healthy young men and women ready to lead the world of tomorrow.”
--Philani Sithole, former Local Coach, South Africa
